Summer Eldemire is a writer, director, and creative director who has built campaigns for brands like Rockhouse Hotel, Skylark Hotel, and Sandals. She moves fluidly between roles—writing, directing, performing on camera, and shaping creative direction—while also crafting copy for websites, newsletters, social media, and travel guides for brands like Sweetgreen.

She has directed and produced short-form content for the BBC and PBS and worked with the award-winning production company Lightbox Inc. on documentaries for Netflix, Showtime, Nat Geo, and HBO Max. Her work also spans music videos and show visuals for artists Good Girl and the Jamaican dub collective Ground Sound, blending cinematic storytelling with bold visual concepts.

Her writing has appeared in Guernica, Pree Caribbean Literary Magazine, The Daily Beast, The Face, Al Jazeera, Complex UK, BBC, The Intercept, Stranger’s Guide, Writer’s Mosaic and Sole DxB. She was longlisted for the 2024 Commonwealth Short Story Prize.

She has created, directed, acted in, and written several short films, including the web series Highly Favored, The Donut Space Odyssey—commissioned by Public Art’s organization Active Cultures—and her most recent work, Paradise, a queer Caribbean romance.

Her creative work delves into themes of Caribbean identity, belonging, and intergenerational legacy. She is drawn to stories that explore Caribbean mysticism, memory, and the liminal spaces between worlds. She is currently at work on her first novel.

She holds a BFA in Painting and an MA in Creative Non-Fiction, both from NYU, and has professional experience at Vanity Fair, The Daily Beast, and the New York Times Syndicate.
